Judith is an artist whose
handcrafted quilts are framed murals with hidden beauty. More
importantly though, Judith is a mother of a young son with Asperger’s
Syndrome, a form of Autism, who understands, first hand, that art is also
an effective communication tool which can also help to develop social
skills for individuals with developmental disabilities.
 "Teaching, parenting,
counseling - each is an art in itself. There is not one correct way, just
as there is not one correct way to climb a mountain, paint a picture or
sing a song. ... Each individual has infinite potential and resources
within themselves - the goal of support and/or therapy should not be to
'teach' but to empower the individual to find their own languages, and to
value and use their own resources. Therein lies the value of creative
expressive activities."

(Australia) MA in Counseling Psychology (U.S.) has most recently been a
social skills counselor for children in New Jersey schools. She also
provides individual and group counseling.

community through which parents and artisans can network to facilitate
creative expressive activities through parent-organized meeting groups.
Judith's desire is to
encourage families to share information and resources for ongoing support
in a personalized approach to emotional / social development within a
unifying structure to build friendships, personal strengths, and
resilience.
While this program is
currently directed toward the autism population in northern New Jersey
communities, this type of interactive program can be duplicated or
expanded to support the inclusion of all residents within the spectrum in
these and other towns. Visit
