Every business has a subset of key words specific to its products and services.  Whether communicating to customers through a newspaper ad, a web brochure, or professional presentation, these key words are a way to open a door to their interest and provide them another avenue to reach your business.

 

Creating a list of keywords is a beneficial task for all businesses, large or small.  Keywords include:

  • Customer and geographic demographic information such as business location town and neighboring towns, zip codes, and known landmarks

  • Industry terms that are specific to products and services, and their common misspelling

  • Business-specific terms such as the business name, address, and phone number, and variations of the owner's name

 

This list is initially exhaustive but when sharpened to 50 to 60 words is an invaluable tool in a business owner's promotional toolkit.
