Dorothy Sage Wolfe is a published author and spokesperson who resembles a Celtic woman as a messenger within and for her tribe.

The Celtic culture is an ancient peoples whose language is unknown yet whose cultural and stylistic expressions are recognizable elements of beauty with complex symbolism and elements of other cultures.  In the same way, the Autism culture is old but only today being discovered for its beauty and expressions.

As an aspie, Dorothy understands the language within and the participation throughout the autism community, and has taken the role of a messenger --

  • Helping other aspies discover their hidden strengths and express them in a means that is understandable by other "cultures"

  • Teaching the global community about the unknown and sometimes misunderstood language of the aspie community

  • Living a faithful life that is being uncovered in her coaching, writing, and entrepreneurial endeavors

Dorothy is a graduate of Southern CT State University in New Haven Connecticut, as well as an active member of the Global & Regional Autism Spectrum Partnership (www.GRASP.com), the Connecticut Autism Spectrum Resource Center (www.CT-ASRC.org), American Mensa Ltd (www.us.mensa.org), and Triple Nine Society (www.triplenine.org).

In the most basic sense of the word, Dorothy is a person who carries a message, the message of participation and communication within and across the autism community.  A messenger is also a person appointed to perform certain duties, generally of a ministerial character.

More symbolically, however, "a messenger is a small line used to pull a heavier line or cable. The messenger line is usually easier to throw, lead through holes or otherwise manipulate than the line that it will be used to pull". (www.terrax.org)  Dorothy is this line, pulling the message of, for, and by the autism community, and like the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, Dorothy is transforming the perception of this long unknown culture.

When my patience seems too short,
    help me stretch it.
Teach me how to meet a crisis
    with a smile.
When I'm running out of quick and
    clever answers,
Let the questions stop for just
    a little while.
When it seems as though the day
    has too few hours
In which to do the things
    I have to do,
May I always find time
    for what's important--
Time for listening,
    Time for love
        and laughter, too.
